How to Find Unknown Device ID

Posted by presets Sunday, September 4 0 comments
On my previous post, about Zotac, i searched some of the drivers for it, and it's not easy. I use Unknown Device Identifier 7.00 to helped me out find whats the right drivers. This software can find a list of device ids, which can be saved into a text file, making it easier to copy and paste in the search bar.
To find the device id on the internet, I use this site www.devid.info.

Devid.info serve you with millions drivers. Search results sorted by date, ranging from the latest release, in the first column refers to the operating system, the second column refers to the device name. which I like best is, you can download it without registering first. if it finds the drivers needed, simply click the download link.

After clicking the download link, a download page will displays details of driver which have been selected. Contain filename, vendor, file size, version, driver date, driver version, upload date, and supported operating system.

And if still curious if this driver is compatible with devices that are owned, there is still an option to see what devices are supported by this driver. Look for the [+] plus sign at the bottom of the download page, just click on it and list of device name will appear, followed by its device id.

You can even upload your own drivers or a link from the drivers to be shared with others. Just click the upload link at the bottom right side of the search bar. It said Maximum filesize of driver is 20Mb. Driver recognition is doing in automatic mode. Main rule: one file must contain only one driver. All archive format accepting: zip, rar, 7z, self-extracting exe. Driver will be added to database only after moderator approving.

Drivers for Zotac N73V

Posted by presets Monday, August 29 0 comments
This is one of Zotac Motherboard type which is hardly to find it drivers, since Zotac itself does not provide all the required driver at their website. I have it one, and need to re-install the OS. I lost my Zotac N73V Mobo Driver, so i had to browse again at the internet. Came to the Zotac web but found nothing match with my N73V type/series.

For info, image shown at left is Zotac N73U, which nearly similar to Zotac N73V.

Here's for details :

Remove Blogger Navbar

Posted by presets Monday, June 20 0 comments
Blogger Navbar is a frame that is usually located at the top of the blogger's page. Navbar has features to log in to blogger.com, searches the blog your're viewing, lets you promote your content on a number of social websites, takes you to a random recently updated blogger blog, a link to your own dashboard, and others. Navbar appears on all freely-hosted blogspot blog, but can be disabled in many ways.

Before you do that, you should understand that this violates the TOS ( Term of Services), thoug not explicitly clear where the infraction. Here's the quote i saw at www.consumingexperience.com :

They do suggest that the navbar should be retained, in their Navbar help page("Unless you publish your blog via FTP, the Navbar cannot be disabled" (my emphasis)) - but that's an ambiguous "cannot" and could refer to the mechanics, which is initially what they said to me (In fact, they said that if they hadn't provided an option to do something in Blogger, then it mustn't be done. I queried that very narrow view, as you can imagine - there are loads of areas where Blogger haven't provided an option to do something, but that doesn't mean everything they haven't specifically provided an option for is therefore forbidden by their TOS. If such a rigid view was taken, that might mean no hacks were allowed, which surely can't be the case!).

if you've read it and want to continue to make changes to thenavbar, it's how to do it,
put this code before the ]]></b:skin> (use ctrl+f to find) :

   /* Remove Navbar */
   #navbar-iframe {
     display: none !important;
   }

To restore, simply delete the code.

Windows XP Fax Services files

Posted by presets Wednesday, June 1 1 comments
Frustration, I experienced in setting the fax machine connected to the computer without the XP CD. Verydifficult to find the required files. Browsing on the internet showing a lot of sites associated with the files needed but none are complete. Many articles that teach how to get those files, but still have to find some raw files that may not or hard to get it. Here is a list of raw files that i share :
FXSAPI.DL_               FXSCFGWZ.DL_            FXSCLNT.CH_            FXSCLNT.EX_
FXSCLNT.HL_             FXSCLNTR.DL_             FXSCOM.DL_             FXSCOMEX.DL_
FXSCOUNT.H_           FXSCOVER.CH_            FXSCOVER.EX_         FXSDRV.DL_
FXSEVENT.DL_          FXSEXT.EC_                 FXSEXT32.DL_           FXSMON.DL_
FXSOCM.DL_             FXSOCM.IN_                 FXSPERF.DL_            FXSPERF.IN_
FXSRES.DL_              FXSROUTE.DL_            FXSSEND.EX_            FXSSHARE.CH_
FXSST.DL_                 FXSSVC.EX_                FXST30.DL_                FXSTIFF.DL_
FXSUI.DL_                  FXSWZRD.DL_             FXSXP32.DL_              FYI.CO_
GENERIC.CO_            URGENT.CO_

After you have those files, you need to follow the instructions written by Jon :

Easier to install it prior to installing SP2 than after it - not impossible,
but a little tricky after SP2 is installed

Have a look in c:\windows\i386 and c:\windows\system32\dllcache for the
files that the wizard prompts for

ie

fxscfgwz.dll
fxsclntR.dll
fxscount.h (expand from fxscount.h_ )
fxsperf.ini (expand from fxsperf.in_ )
fxsroute.dll
fxssend.dll

Copy them to c:\windows\system32
(you will need to "expand" some of the files before copying
eg to expand fxscount.h_ to fxscount.h use the command "expand fxscount.h_
fxscount.h" at a command prompt)

These files should NOT be placed in c:\windows\system32 but in these
locations...

fxsext.ecf ( expanded from fxsext.ec_ ) in c:\windows\addins
Place the .cov files in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\MSFAX\Common Coverpages
(create the MSFAX and "Common Coverpages" subfolders if they don't already
exist)

ie

confdent.cov (expanded from confdent.co_ )
fyi.cov (expanded from fyi.co_ )
generic.cov (expanded from generic.co_ )
urgent.cov (expanded from urgent.co_ )

When all the files are in position the installation should proceed smoothly

Hope this helps

Jon
